The emergence of moto sports is closely connected with the invention of the motorcycle. So in 1894, 9 years after the invention of the first motorcycle there was organized the first competition of mechanical crews on the route Paris-Rouen at a distance of 126 km/h. The competition participants were crews of any systems and structures driven on wheels. This was the beginning of the modern motosport. The winners in these competitions were mechanical vehicles, the average speed of which equalled 20,5 km/h. Such a speed hadn’t been reached before that time. A new form of motoworld existence appeared in the press then. So, moto sport began developing at the end of the last century after the first motos were manufactured. In the early 20th century this sports was finally divided between cars (two-track) and motorcycles (one-track, two tracks – a motorcycle with a sidecar). The 19th century center of the motorsport was France, therefore, the most important race start was created in Paris and later it distributed to various cities: Marseille, Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, Madrid and others. In 1895 motorcyclists attended the first motor racing in the world – Paris-Bordeaux-Paris. In 1895-1896 it was carried out to one race a year, and then their number has been growing uncontrollably. Little success in these races was achieved by tricycles De Dion Bouton. 5 years later in July 8, 1904, in the Czech town of Pakov a group of enthusiasts in motorsports from several countries created International Federation of Motorcycle – FIKM, the predecessor of the current PPM. Its creation was motivated by the fact that by the time the specificity of the competition established clear terminology, separating bikes and cars. There was a need for a single international body.

The first motorcycle race on the dirt track that received the status of “annual”, was held in 1907 in South America, in the same year England held the Isle of Man – the ring road race, which became very popular in the early 20th century. Motorcross organization began in 1908 in London. They were racing on rough terrain, the so-called “chasing a fox,” in which, besides the 13 riders there took part 16 horseback participants. While combat is a motorcycle and the horse, as a rule, it didn’t end in favor of the former. Competition on the regularity of movement and reliability of motorcycles were mostly in the UK. Although they were not considered international, they quickly became very popular – the number of participants was constantly growing as they decided to take part in the event to increase their experience.

The year 1913 was outstanding in the history of motorcycle sport. The English city of Carlisle first hosted international motorcycle six-day competition, which attracted 162 riders. Since then, the international six-day competitions were held from time to time and still are like a world team championship in all-round motorcycle. On the number of victories leading position in this competition is the United Kingdom and Czechoslovakia. But the popularity of the viewer does not win it, and competitions on the steep climbs. In these motocross races, which were most popular in the U.S. and the UK, there were used high-powered motorcycles, which, unlike road bikes were a fixture against slipping rear wheel.
